Training/Resources/Support

Mary’s Meals is committed to ensuring all that volunteers have an enjoyable and worthwhile volunteering experience. All Community Volunteers will have:

  • A comprehensive induction to Mary’s Meals

  • Regular training

  • Resources to support your role and information on Mary’s Meals administration

  • Support from your regional Lead Volunteer, existing volunteers and the Mary’s Meals Supporter Engagement Team

  • The opportunity to gain and develop skills and to meet other volunteers

  • The opportunity to learn more about the work of Mary’s Meals

  • Out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of your volunteering reimbursed in accordance with the Mary’s Meals Volunteer Expense Policy

Time commitment

This role can work flexibly to suit your availability and other commitments.

Mary's Meals Community Volunteer

Key responsibilities

• Help us to share our story - give Mary’s Meals talks to local community organisations, schools, churches and faith groups to raise vital awareness and funds • Host fundraising events in your local area such as coffee mornings, quizzes, bag packs and bucket collections • Promote Mary’s Meals’ fundraising campaigns • Help to organise and promote our back-pack collections • Distribute and display promotional materials • Place collection tins in local community areas and they come together in groups to support each other in this activity • Host community engagement events such as film screenings to share our message • Help us to generate corporate support in your local area • Support with local media opportunities
