Our 2020 Competition Season - Another amazing year!
It has been another amazing competition season this year, it seems to be getting bigger and better each year! We had 7 squads competing which were Advanced Ballet, Advanced Tap, Advanced Contemporary, Advanced Jazz, Group Wildcard, Intermediate Street and Advanced Street! We can’t wait to tell you how we got on….
We took part in 4 competitions and Newcastle kicked it all off on the 29th February. Over 50 of our squad members met outside the Guild for a very early coach trip to Newcastle. We were very tired but excited to show off what we had been working on for the last few months and see what competition we were up against this year! It was such a great start to comp season. After a long day of dancing we headed to our hostel to get ready for the social and a big night out on the “toon”! We had a lot to celebrate as we had done so well, our results were….
Advanced Tap – 1st place!!
Advanced Jazz – 3rd place
Wildcard – 3rd place and best costume!
Advanced street – 3rd place
Next was Edinburgh on the 14th March. It was an even earlier start at the guild, but we were all buzzing from our successful weekend at Newcastle! Again, it was such a great competition and so much fun going to a new city a lot of us had never been! Edinburgh nightlife did not disappoint, and we had the best time at the social to celebrate another successful weekend! The next morning, we headed for a big spoons breakfast (which was very needed) and got on the coach home to Liverpool. Our results were….

The following weekend we headed to Manchester! We knew it was going to be a hard competition as there were 26 universities competing. However, everyone put in 100% as we were so proud with all our performances. We place…

And finally, it was time for our competition! After months of preparation we couldn’t believe the day was finally here…. Big shout out to Cicily and Ciara (our competition coordinators) for all their hard work, we literally couldn’t have done it without you! It was the most amazing day; we couldn’t have asked for it to be better and had such good feedback from other universities. After a long day of dancing, and lots of dominos pizza, we headed down to MODO for our comp social. We had a lot of celebrating to do to round of the best competition season. Thank you to everyone for making this year such a success! We welcomed the loveliest group of freshers who we can’t wait to see come back next year. Also a big thank you to our teachers who produced the most fun pieces and as you can see from our results, did so well!
