For week 7 we’re focusing on… Focus!
There are so many distractions in modern everyday life, it can be really difficult to find focus sometimes. A constant stream of social media notifications, emails and Canvas uploads can prevent us from being truly present in the moment which in turn can stop us from appreciating and experiencing life fully (for more on this, check out last week’s post about gratitude). And of course, focus is vital for students as the work piles up and deadlines creep closer.
Yoga, once again, is very beneficial here. When focusing on your poses and breath, your attention naturally falls into the present moment, but this feeling can follow you off the mat and into the rest of your day too. Yoga can help you to achieve mental clarity which is then great for improving your productivity. Researchers have found that yoga does actually improve focus, attention and memory, so it really is good for both the body and mind!
