Successful Year of 2017/2018
17/18 has been a great year for Accounting and Finance Society!
We have started off with a successful start of year event where we invited ACFI members to have a chat, play games and get to know each other for pizza and soft drinks! This event was a great success as Accounting and Finance students were able to get to know each other from across all year groups. The event was useful for first-year students who were new at the time to the university where older students were able to advise them about University and different modules that they were starting to study.
Furthermore, Accounting and Finance Society has been involved in helping out final year students in organizing the End of Year Ball. This event was one of a kind and the first one to happen in Accounting and Finance course. With over 100 students joining us on the event which was held in Richmond Hotel. ACFI lecturers have also joined the event and we can say with confidence that event was a 100% success. We do want to make it an annual event for our students.
Throughout both semesters, the society has helped students in purchasing ICAEW textbooks. These books can be costly and the society has helped students in subsidizing the costs by ordering a bulk of textbooks at one and paying for the delivery costs. We aim to do this every year in semester one and semester two as textbooks do help our students to achieve higher grades in the exams!
We Sincerely thank all the society members, lecturers, the guild and Accounting and Finance students in supporting us throughout the year and making our society even better every year! Every year we have a new committee that learns from the past students to make sure the society is moving forward and is getting better and better!!
