What a year it has been for the Accounting & Finance Society this year!!!

The academic year was kicked off to a high with our ACFI welcome event. All students were invited to Revolution Bar in Town, where they were greeted with a free drink token, and had the opportunity to mingle and get to know other students on the course across all year groups! This event was particularly important for first years who were new to the University and Liverpool, as well as for placement students who have come back from working for a year! The evening involved a lot of laughter, conversation and beer pong!!!

The ACFI committee also put on a fun Christmas event to the ice skating ring on the Albert Dock. This was another great opportunity for students on the course to mingle and do something fun before we broke up for Christmas.

Throughout the year the Committee helped students purchase their ICAEW books, as postage & packaging when ordering alone can be very expensive. This helps students by subsidizing the costs through the ordering of textbooks in bulk, reducing the postage & packaging each student pays. We try to do this every semester to try and help our ACFI students as much as we can!!

The best event of the year and possibly to date was the ACFI Ball!!! This was a HUGE success with just over 150 attendees, including some members from the ICAEW Board! With a red carpet and drink on arrival, a delicious 3 course meal, photo booth with props, decorations, DJ and dancefloor, the event held in the Marriott hotel definitely lived up to expectations! Accounting students danced the night away, and is an event that will be remembered. I would like to personally thank Hamzah and Anisha for all their hard work in making the event amazing.

As a committee, we sincerely thank all of our society members, Accounting & Finance students, lecturers and the Guild for giving us so much support throughout the academic year. Year on year the society gets better and stronger, with hard working committee members with strong ideas. We wish you the best of luck with your upcoming deadlines/exams, and thank you for helping the Accounting & Finance course have such a spectacular year!
