No matter if you know Liverpool like the back of your hand or if you’re still getting to grips with the city and it’s many Quarters/Triangles/Districts, we can all learn a little more about the city we call home.
Here’s just a few of our favourite facts to get you prepped for the start of a new academic year in September:
#1 Night on the Tiles: Rough Guides voted a night out in Liverpool the 3rd thing to do before you die. Before you jet off to the Grand Canyon or snap a picture on the Great Wall of China instead get out in the Baltic Triangle, Seel Street, Mathew Street or wherever takes your fancy.
#2 Full of Culture: Liverpool houses more museums and galleries than any other city outside of London and lots of them are free. Take an afternoon to visit one or fill a weekend full of culture and expand your mind.
#3 Books for Everyone Liverpool was the first place in the world to have a library that lent out books to the public, seeing the value in a good book.
#4All of the Cathedrals – If you want a Cathedral we’ve got one spare…Liverpool has two equally beautiful cathedrals. The Anglican and Roman Catholic Cathedral sit on opposite ends of Hope Street. Take a trip, they are both spectacular.
#5 Vibrant Culture – Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe; bringing gorgeous cuisine and fantastic culture to the city. You may have also spotted the incredible Chinese Arch – the largest one of its kind outside of China.
