A huge congratulations is in order for our Liverpool University Student Theatre society (LUST) who have recently been awarded a grant of over £5,500 from the Friends of the University of Liverpool.
LUST members impressed with a ten minute presentation to the Friends Committee followed by questions from the panel. Their successful pledge convinced the Friends to offer the grant, which will be put towards the purchase of seven radio microphone packs and equipment that will greatly enrich their performances in our Stanley Theatre.
Chris Peters, LUST’s treasurer, said: “These microphones will allow LUST to develop as a society by allowing more of our cast to be heard on stage during performances, provide opportunities for other societies to develop themselves by using these brand new facilities in the Guild, and increase the involvement of the Guild in the local, national and international community.”
The Friends of the University has donated over £750,000 of grants since their founding, which have helped to kick-start new projects and make improvements to enhance the University and student life.
