As you will have seen over the past few weeks in the media, we have an endemic problem of sexual harassment and assault at all levels of our society and institutions. Our campus and city is no different.
Over the past couple of years, NUS and Universities UK worked together to develop a new approach to tackling the issue of Sexual Misconduct on our university campuses. Now, your Guild and University are mirroring that relationship at a local level to change policy and make our campus safe and welcoming. One of the driving parts of the campaign is a roll-out of free ‘Bystander Intervention Training’ and we want YOU to get involved.
The training will teach you how to recognise and combat Sexual Misconduct and make your halls, lessons and society meeting and events accessible to all. We have all taken part in the training, as have many of your fellow students, and it has been invaluable. We urge you to seize this opportunity and get involved.

As a Students’ Union we stand together to make ourselves louder, stronger and capable of fighting the injustices that affect any one of us. You should seize this rare opportunity to equip yourselves with the tools to fight Sexual Misconduct when and where you see it. Together we can ensure that we end the culture of looking the other way and facilitate an environment of solidarity.
Don’t miss out on such an important opportunity,
Sean, Ananda, Oba & Rory
