Celebrating National Sandwich Day in Liverpool

October and November are full of important dates: Halloween, Bonfire Night, the Races and so on. However, one important date to jot down is November 3rd: National Sandwich Day! From the Albert Docks to Sefton Park, Liverpool has so many scrumptious sandwiches in local cafes to taste. We’ve made the selection easier, picking out a few of our favourite sandwich spots to have our main character moments.  

Liverpool Guild of Students

Put down the burrito for 24 hours and try out a tasty sandwich! Head to our Guild Shop to grab yourself a sandwich in our “Meal-Steal” for £3, where you can get a sandwich, drink, snack and piece of fruit. Alternatively, head to the Courtyard and browse our range of sandwiches by the “Coffee” section. Or if you fancy a treat, pop to Starbucks (inside the Guild) and check out their selection of savoury goodies.  

Lucy in the Sky

Liverpool’s hidden cafe gem is no other than “Lucy in the Sky” Located in the Heart of Liverpool, the cafe’s warm atmosphere and tasty treats are created by local owner, Lucy Jeffers. The family run cafe sources cakes and coffee from local suppliers, honouring Liverpool local businesses. How could you not Instagram your plate? 

The Watering Can

Open 9am-7pm everyday of the week, there is no excuse not to try out one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafes near campus! Located by Greenbank Park, it’s the perfect cafe to treat your flatmate to on National Sandwich Day, with a variety of options from fish fingers to falafel. Be sure to bring a friend to share the amazing portion sizes! 

Pippin’s Corner

Pippin’s have so many sandwiches to choose from! Play it safe with chicken and avocado or perhaps branch out and get the “Brie, Grape, Walnut, and Cranberry” sandwich. Open from 9am-6pm, Pippin’s is a dog friendly cafe, open to sit in or takeaway. If you don’t fancy the walk, they are now available on Just Eat! 

Nomad

📍Smithdown Road, before the Brookhouse 

Smithdown’s secret student café is no other than ‘Nomad’ Why not get the 86 bus to Borrowdale Road and venture into the hearty cafe. Enjoy your sandwich this November 3rd alongside a coffee, handcrafted by skilled staff. All food is homemade and affordable, with a warm and cosy environment
